Very nice book on movie theatres of the world, a dieing species in the entertainment industry.Movie theatre used to be a part of community life worldwide over some decades. Whenever civilization changed, electricity coming to remote places, television and internet taking over, the movie theatre lost its function as an electric, modren place in the community center. Some vanish fastly, others have a long process of dieing. Finkelstein has documented them very well, and there are lots of parallel developments all over the world, be it the USA,m India, Europe or Asia.Nicely photographed with annotations on the individual chapters, this book is a good value for every theatre enthusiast, and will give a look backwards into a popular part of the culture, that will be fully extinct in some years.
