Description
Bollingen Series XXBibliography & index. This volume has become known as perhaps the best introduction to Jung's work. In these famous essays. "The Relations between the Ego & the Unconscious" & "On the Psychology of the Unconscious," he presented the essential core of his system. Historically, they mark the end of Jung's intimate association with Freud & sum up his attempt to integrate the psychological schools of Freud & Adler into a comprehensive framework. The earliest versions of the Two Essays, "New Paths in Psychology" (1912) & "The Structure of the Unconscious" (1916), discovered among his posthumous papers, are published in an appendix, to show the development of his thought in later versions. As an aid to study, the index has been comprehensively expanded.

The moment I opened this book, I was hooked, and there was no way out. I could not put the book down, I read it almost obsessively. So much valuable information contained here, and so much to think through and practice. More importantly, the book seems to be a great introduction to Jung. It really contains a lot of his ideas, or so I think since I haven't read much of Jung yet.All I can say is that this book has left me both satisfied and wanting more. I will definitely be reading it again.
