This book was originally handed off to me from my dad decades ago. As I read it, it became the most favorite book of my life. Anyone who flies professionally or dreams of flying should enjoy the theme, the rhythm, the poetic prose and the profound perspective of an old aviator from our earliest aviation history. I recommend this book without equivocation or qualification. I have been a pilot for sixty years and I think of scenes from this book and find them so parallel to my own experiences——but, with a poetic overture in the background.
